Welcome to Trish Smith's School Board Campaign
Trish moved to Pflugerville with her two sons in 1999 to join the team at Connally High School. The family all thrived during their time with the district. A lifelong educator and passionate advocate for public education, Trish Smith is ready to bring her experience and dedication to the Pflugerville ISD School Board.
Trish spent 14 years teaching ELA, speech, debate, AVID, and media literacy at Connally High School, where she also established the AVID program and took on leadership roles, including serving on the superintendent’s committee and coordinating student government and UIL activities. After retiring, she spent 8.5 years teaching abroad in Myanmar and Guatemala, where she was a K-12 head librarian.
With 29 years in public schools, 8.5 years in private education, and experience in charter schools, Trish brings a well-rounded perspective to the board. She has been honored as Teacher of the Year in Comal County ISD and recognized as Humanitarian of the Year in both Comal ISD and PISD. She has also shared her expertise as a presenter at conferences in Texas and internationally.
Beyond education, Trish is deeply involved in the community. She co-chaired the Pflugerville Relay for Life, served on the Deutschen Pfest Parks and Recreation Committee, sporadically volunteers at the United Methodist Church’s food pantry, and actively supports local nonprofits. She even leads her neighborhood’s social and welcome committees.
Trish believes in action, not just words. She understands the challenges facing public schools and is committed to ensuring every student receives a quality education.
